Our client is a large global organisation with offices in dozens of countries around the world. There are currently multiple opportunities for Database Administrators to join their office in Prague.
The role provides the opportunity to be involved in data warehousing technologies and offers the possibility to move more into the Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse area in the future.
This role is for the newly founded Managed services team and involves performing Database and system administration, providing SQL tuning and optimisation and performance tuning of systems.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage and support 24x7 production and development databases to ensure maximum availability of database resource for various applications;
- Perform the DBA related tasks in key areas of System Administration, Database Administration, Backup, Archive & Restore Management, Performance Management & Reporting;
- Provide capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, strategies defined for backup/recovery techniques, and problem determination and resolution.
- Some experience with Database Administration
- SQL knowledge and knowledge of UNIX shell scripting
- Willingness to travel and to relocate to Prague (Czech Republic)
- Willingness to provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis with the team
- Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written)
- An understanding of ETL concepts and Data Warehousing would be an advantage
