Position:

Logistics Director

Location: Komorniki

My client is seeking an experienced Logistics Director for a Polish based firm dealing in the production of anticoagulant bands, beds, mattresses and other medical equipment.

You will be responsible for:

• Creating and implementation of a new logistics structure. 
• Managing the logistics department (approx. 30 employees). 
• Implementation of logistics processes such as: bar codes and ERP system. 
• Business development, carrying out negotiations with transport companies.
• Promoting best practice in the management of warehouse space.
• Responsibility for the transfer of goods (from entering the warehouse to reaching the customer).
• Ensuring the highest standards of warehousing service and making sure that there are no discrepancies between the amount of stock that is physically in the warehouse and the records in the ERP system.
• Co-operating with the Customs Office.
• Managing Lean projects.
• Participating in the process of visualization of goods transfer.

Requirements:

• Educated to a degree standard. Degree in logistics desirable but not essential.
• Very good level in English language
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a similar role in manufacturing or a logistics operation.
• Experienced user or experience in implementing ERP systems.
• Implementation and use of bar codes in warehousing.
• Experience of managing numerous intakes and dispatches daily using SKU.
• Software experience required - SAP, Axapta, M3 or other ERP system

Personal qualities:

• Excellent communicator, forthright, ‘working in partnership’ management style, assertive, able to promote best practice and push forward ideas
• Excellent understanding of Lean tools and processes within logistics.
• Internal and external customer oriented.
• Experience in optimising stock.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate. Reporting to the company MD you will be responsible for a team of approximately 30 workers in the logistics department. The company employs c.510 people altogether. There are 7 other Directors in the company working at the same level as this position.
